Engaging Diverse African American/Black and Latine Youth and Emerging Adults Living with HIV into Research: Description of Recruitment Strategies and Lessons Learned
My peer reviewed publishing experience consists in delivering thoughtful and detailed description on methods and quantitative or qualitative data analysis, as well as a thorough literature review. I co-wrote this article and worked as a research scientist using community outreach, social media, and even dating apps to recruit participants for a mixed methods study looking into the treatment continuum of Black and Latine young adults living with HIV.
George Takei Newsletters and Email Marketing Strategy
My email marketing strategies focuses on clear segmentation and taking advantage of a direct line to our consumers. For George Takei’s team I managed and created a newsletter delivered five days a week, as well as monthly emails for those who wanted a different experience. These strategies allowed me to grow the audience and provide another source for consumers to find links to our blogs and the team’s site. Part of the strategy also focused on utilizing email communications to sell some of our products and inform them of future events.

My journalistic career has focused on delivering thoroughly researched information that affects our community and impacts people’s sexual and reproductive care. As a copyeditor I understand the importance of delivering important information, while using those touch points to inform consumers of your services and how they can improve their access to valuable resources.
Social Media Management for the Association of National Advertisers
I worked as the digital content manager for the Association of National Advertisers. I managed paid and unpaid content and developed social media strategies to promote products, events, and content. While working there audience engagement doubled, I established an Instagram presence, and their LinkedIn audience grew by 11%.
